Professional License Defense for Bridgeport Veterinarians

Years of education and clinical experience are required to become a veterinarian in Bridgeport. This includes a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited veterinary school of medicine and a state veterinary license. Once you are licensed you may begin practicing as a veterinarian. As a veterinarian you are able to specialize in the care and treatment of sick and injured animals.

When They Can Strip You of Your Career

As a veterinarian, you are required to maintain the proper certifications and licensure. Continued education may be required in order to provide patients with the best care they deserve. The Connecticut State Board of Veterinary Medicine is responsible for monitoring proper care. If the Board believes there are reasons to revoke one’s license they have the power to do so. A few reasons a license could be revoked are:

Inability to practice. If the Board believes that you are physically or mentally unable to continue providing proper care, they may revoke your license. This can include deterioration of mental capacity, loss of motor skills, drug/alcohol abuse, etc.

Sexual misconduct or criminal charges. As a veterinarian you work closely with the public, and it is important that the public feel safe when they require your assistance.

Failure to report infectious diseases. It is law that you report any contagious diseases you discover. Failure to do so, or misleading the report, is a violation against your license.

When You Need a Defense – Call a License Defense Lawyer

The work you do as a veterinarian is important, but does not come with a guaranteed employment. Without a license you could lose years of hard work.
